Troi File Plug-in v3.5 introduced writing IPTC metadata to JPEG files and Troi File Plug-in v4.5 introduced writing Exif metadata to JPEG files.
IMPORTANT Writing metadata in JPEGs is a powerful feature. Although we tested it thoroughly and this feature has been working fine for years now, Troi can not be held responsible for loss of (image) data.
Note that this caveat only applies to writing metadata. Getting IPTC or Exif or XMP metadata only reads images and will not change them.
Extra considerations
Also note:
- This feature currently only works with JPEGs. We have no plans to implement other file formats at this moment.
- Photoshop (or other programs) may have added other types of metadata, like XMP. These types of metadata are not changed by the plug-in at the moment. This may cause inconsistent metadata in the image file.
Please let us know if you find any issues with this feature.
