Below you'll find some information regarding compatibility
of Troi Plug-ins with FileMaker Pro 13. This is based on our initial tests. We are performing more tests, and will be providing more information. Please check back for updates.

Summary
Running plug-ins with FileMaker Pro 13
In general all our plug-ins that worked with FileMaker Pro 11 and FileMaker Pro 12 still work with FileMaker Pro 13. See below for the details on specific plug-in versions.
Running plug-ins with FileMaker Pro 13 and Mac OS X
FileMaker Pro 13 for Mac OS X can only run on Intel Macs. All current Troi Plug-ins are Universal versions, which can run on both Intel and PowerPC Macs. Of course on PowerPC our plug-ins will only run under older versions of FileMaker Pro.
64-bit plug-ins are needed for FileMaker Server 13
FileMaker Server 13 and WebDirect are 64-bit processes, for which plug-ins need to be compiled for 64-bit. On Windows, 64-bit plug-ins have a different extension: fmx64. In the download of a 64-bit compatible plug-in you will find this extra copy of the plug-in.
Plug-ins for Mac OS X can be universal and the extension is always the same: fmplugin. A universal plug-in is a single plug-in that will run on a 32-bit process as well as on 64-bit process. You can not easily see if a OS X plug-in is 64-bit compatible. We have created a simple dropper app called "Troi Architecture Check" to determine for which architectures a plug-in is compiled. You can download the app here.
At the moment Troi Activator Plug-in v3.5.2, Troi File Plug-in 7.5.1 and Troi URL Plug-in 4.0 are 64-bit compatible: they will run with FileMaker Server 13 and WebDirect on both Mac OS X and Windows. Please note that running on FileMaker Server 13 and WebDirect Troi Activator can only send messages, not receive them.
We are working on updates for our other plug-ins to work with FileMaker Server 13 and WebDirect.
The same plug-in architecture
The plug-in architecture has not changed in
FileMaker 13. So there is no need to change any function
calls when converting to FileMaker 13 (as compared to the
change in plug-in architecture introduced in FileMaker Pro
7).
Simple plug-in updating
Plug-in updating has been simplified in FileMaker Pro 12 and 13. You now store plug-ins in solution files and install updates from container fields. The Auto Update plug-in is no longer needed. All new versions of Troi plug-ins provide an example file to demonstrate this update process in FileMaker Pro 12 and 13.
NOTE We have already prepared most of our plug-ins for this improved updating process. However, some of our plug-ins still need to be updated to reflect the correct version number (they return 1.0 instead of the real version number). See the table below.
Location of installed plug-ins
When you make use of the new plug-in updating functionality the plug-ins will be installed in the same location as with auto-updated plug-ins from FileMaker Server 9 through 11:
- Windows XP:
C:\Document Settings\User Name\Local Settings\Application Data\FileMaker\Extensions
- Windows Vista, Windows 7 and 8:
C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Local\FileMaker\Extensions
- Mac OS X:
Macintosh HD:Users:User Name:Library:Application Support:FileMaker:Extensions
TIP If you use auto-update ànd install plug-ins manually: it is best to only install plug-ins in the folders above and no longer use the Extensions folder next to the FileMaker Pro application itself.
